This session will address the critical role of competition advocacy in promoting the effective implementation of competition policy, as well as explore avenues for enhancing international cooperation among competition authorities in the ASEAN and CIS regions.

Participants will be invited to share their respective jurisdictions’ experiences and best practices in fostering public understanding and support for competition policy. In addition, the session will examine practical mechanisms to strengthen cross-border cooperation in response to the increasing complexity of global markets, including the digital economy. Key areas of focus will include coordinated enforcement efforts, information sharing frameworks, and capacity-building initiatives.

It is our hope that this dialogue will contribute meaningfully to advancing policy convergence and mutual understanding among competition authorities in the region.

Law Enforcement

This session will provide a platform for competition authorities from the ASEAN and CIS regions to exchange views on recent developments and emerging challenges in competition law enforcement.

As digital platform markets continue to grow and new technologies rapidly emerge, the role of competition authorities is becoming increasingly important. In this context, the session will cover a range of topics, including responses to abusive conduct in digital markets, detection and sanctioning of cartels, improvements to merger review systems and actual enforcement cases. It will also explore ways to enhance the effectiveness of enforcement in these areas.

It is anticipated that this session will facilitate the sharing of practical experiences and enforcement strategies, while contributing to greater alignment and cooperation in competition law enforcement across the region.
